What is functional medicine?

Our functional medicine service blends internal-medicine evaluation with nutrition, sleep, stress and lifestyle planning. We look for patterns behind symptoms (gut, immune, hormones, metabolism), then build a stepwise plan that’s practical for life in Seoul.

Who is it for?

  • Persistent fatigue or brain fog
  • Bloating, reflux, IBS-like symptoms
  • Skin flares (acne, redness) linked to diet/stress
  • Weight and metabolic concerns (blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure)
  • Perimenopause/men’s health optimization (non-emergency)
  • Post-travel recovery and frequent flyers needing structured routines

What we assess

  • Comprehensive history: diet, sleep, stress, activity, environment, meds/supplements
  • Core labs as clinically indicated (CBC, CMP, lipids, A1c, thyroid, vitamin/mineral status)
  • Optional advanced testing when appropriate (e.g., stool/gut function, inflammatory markers, glucose monitoring)
  • Readable reports with clear priorities and timelines

On-site services

  • Doctor consultation and targeted labs
  • Personalized nutrition and habit plans (sleep, movement, stress tools)
  • Supplement and medication guidance (evidence-based, safety first)
  • IV therapy for hydration and recovery when clinically appropriate
  • Referrals to allied care (GI, dermatology, women’s health, mental health) if needed

Visit flow

  1. Intake & goals → share symptoms, history, meds/supplements.
  2. Exam & testing plan → order only tests that will change care.
  3. 4–12 week plan → food framework, daily habits, supplements/meds if indicated.
  4. Follow-ups (2–4 weeks) → review results, adjust plan, remove what isn’t working.

Programs & follow-ups

  • Starter: Initial consult + core labs + 1 follow-up
  • Deep-Dive: Initial + expanded labs + 2–3 follow-ups + habit coaching check-ins
  • Maintenance: Quarterly reviews or as needed before travel/peak seasons

Pricing & insurance

Fees vary by consult length and tests. Most visitors pay upfront and claim with their insurer using our itemized English receipt. We explain costs before ordering any optional labs.

What to bring

Passport/ID, medication/supplement list, recent labs (if any), and your top three goals. Wear sleeves that roll easily if you expect bloodwork or IV therapy.

When to choose emergency care instead

For chest pain, severe shortness of breath, heavy bleeding, high fever with confusion, stroke symptoms, or major injury, call 119 or go to an emergency department. Functional medicine is not emergency care.
